Nice find! Here in TX we can't buy alcohol before noon on Sunday's. :-(

Really? That seems weird. Aren't alcohol rules a bit more lax in Texas than the rest of the country?

For the most part yes. Beer and wine are in grocery stores and mini-marts with no purchase limits that I know of. You can even buy loose single cans. Liquor is in liquor stores but they are easy to find. The Sunday thing is the only real restriction, with the exception of some dry counties.

Is it true that one can drive around with an open can of beer and that be totally legal? (Obviously I've never been to Texas)

No. They finally made it illegal in 2001. From what I hear there are still plenty of Sheriffs in rural counties that are going to look the other way if you’re a local.

Good to know! Thanks for the interstate alcohol information exchange! This is good Oppo!

Sounds like some weird remnant of Christian/Puritan law that needs to be deleted from real life. Not that I really need alcohol on a Sunday morning, but it’s my decision to buy it in the morning for later consumption if I want.

Nice score. I drove to a Cars/Coffee this morning, so I couldn’t put any Baileys in the coffee. Now that I’m home editing photos, I think a pint of the black stuff is in order!

is this going to be for the whole month or was it a limited edition that every store gets 1 shipment. I must track these down

I truly don’t know. My guess is it is a St Patty’s limited run. But these cans are so cool....I wouldn't be surprised if they kept it up and used a lot of the old art work. The retro move sure helped Miller Lite

Yeah its a blue law that has hung around. On one hand its only a minor inconvenience and nowhere near as restrictive as PA for example. But it just doesn’t fit with real life. I have a friend who goes to a college in the afternoon then works a night shift. She usually has a drink or two at 5 AM after work, just like a lot of us do at 7 PM. I don’t see any problem with that, but the laws on the books make it harder.
